Facilities

The YalMusT Labs are located within the Department of Music at 469 College Street. The facilities are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Currently, there are lab spaces located on the fourth floor: Rm. 401/402 and Rm. 405 the Intermediate Labs, 404 the Advanced Studio, and Rm. 407 the YalMusT Digital Technology Classroom.
 
Stoeckel 401/402 and Stoeckel 405: the YalMusT Intermediate Labs are an intermediate music and multimedia lab environment featuring a number of specialty iMac workstations, each equipped with Akai interactive MIDI hardware. Each workstation has advanced development and research software, as well as our suite of music/video software tools. Rooms 402 and 405 have instructor workstations with a 7.1 surround sound system, VR capabilities, an interactive annotation system, and the Dante media networking technology. 
 
Stoeckel 404: the YalMusT Advanced Studio is an advanced music and multimedia studio. It features an advanced digital audio workstation, a digital mixer/controller, a 5.1 surround sound system, a variety of professional-quality microphones, Akai/McMillan/Roli interactive MIDI hardware and audio tie-ins for recording audio from Rm. B01 in Stoeckel Hall. The workstation has our advanced development and research software, as well as our suite of music/video software tools, and the Dante media networking technology.
 
Rm. 407, the YalMusT Digital Technology Classroom, is an advanced digital technology classroom environment with an instructor’s workstation with a 7.1 surround sound system, and Akai/McMillan/Roli interactive MIDI hardware. The workstation has our advanced development and research software, as well as our suite of music/video software tools, and the Dante media networking technology. It is designed for faculty and teaching assistants to use in specialty technology-based instruction.
